UK Student Visa (Student Route) from Nepal

The UK Student Visa (formerly Tier 4) is required for studying in the UK for over 6 months. You need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from your university before applying.

Step-by-Step Process

1

Receive CAS from University

After accepting your offer, your university will issue a CAS number. This is unique to you and must be used in your visa application.

2

Prove English Proficiency

Your university handles this through a UKVI-approved IELTS or PTE score (SELT). The score must be from a centre approved for UK visa purposes.

3

Show Financial Evidence

You must show: tuition balance + £1,334/month for living outside London (or £1,023 in London) for up to 9 months, held in your bank for 28 consecutive days.

4

Apply Online via UK Visas & Immigration

Apply at gov.uk. Pay the visa fee (£490) and Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS — £776/year).

5

Biometrics Appointment

Visit VFS Global office in Kathmandu to submit biometrics and documents.
